  • The APA 7th  edition citation style is an 'author/date' system, so your in-text references for all formats (book, journal article, web document) consists of the author(s) surname and year of publication. For examples:
  •  1 Author (Hamutoko, 2018)
  • 2 Authors (Wanke & Hamutoko, 2018)
  • 3+ Authors (Hamutoko et al., 2018)
  • Group Author First time with an abbreviation:
  • (Geological Society of South Africa [GSSA], 2020)
  • Then all subsequent citations: (GSSA, 2020)
