Evaluate information sources in terms of the need for high quality information.

  • Not all information is of a high quality. You cannot assume that all information from that source is of a high quality or useful.
  •  It is not an easy task to identify what is high quality information and what is not. Even information from supposedly reputable sources such as journals or newspapers may be of poor quality.

  •  Everyone wants to convince you that his or her information is the most accurate, the most up-to-date, the most interesting, the most expert!  Often you will be flooded with information when searching for literature on a topic.
  • This is why it is important that you define your need carefully and also understand the requirements of the task
