Summarising and Paraphrasing

  • Paraphrasing or summarizing of sources findings is an acceptable way of citing to avoid plagiarism.
  • The author(s) last name (s) and the publication date should always be clear to be closed checked with the full citation in the reference list by readers.
  • For example, the Namibian Government recognises the important contribution of the mining industry to the social and economic development of Namibia. The industry has played a significant part in the economy since the turn of the century.
  • Paraphrasing: The Namibia Ministry of Mines and Energy, (1995) acknowledge the significant contribution of the mining industry to the social and economic development of the country.
